Meet the Man Behind the Art
Henry grew up on a family farm in West Michigan where spending a lot of time outdoors he developed a passion for guns and knives at a young age. When Henry was 15, he got a summer job doing manual labor at a local orchard farm. After buying a couple nice knives and not liking the sheaths, he started doing leatherwork. This gave his passion for gear a creative outlet, and being a homeschool kid he was able to dedicate the majority of his time to learning more about leatherwork. Now with almost a decade of experience and a specialty in holsters Henry strives to meld his passion for gear with yours, offering custom work to the public.
About My Work
My holsters are made by hand using the highest quality materials available. I use Hermann Oak vegetable tanned leather, renowned for its ability to hold its shape and hold tooling. Each item is stitched with a heavy duty American made bonded nylon thread. My process starts with a pencil and piece of graph paper, I draw out each design before cutting any leather. The holsters are formed by hand using a proprietary wet forming process I developed for holsters to hold their shape without becoming brittle. If you choose to have some artwork done, I will carve and/or tool the leather by hand! I use an acrylic based finish that soaks into the leather giving it a water-resistant finish.
